LED Rope Light and Choice of Color The designation of color can be a little confusing, especially for those of you used to the terms "Ultra Warm White" and "Cool White". It is for that reason when choosing a color of white you will be better served if you rely upon the color designation of 2700°Kelvin (ultra warm white) and 6400°Kelvin (cool white).

LEDs have been around for many years, however their use in lighting applications is a recent phenomenon. LEDs are small light bulbs that have no filament, unlike incandescent light bulbs. Because they require no filament, less energy is required, less heat is produced, and bulb life is a thousand times longer. Energy is not wasted heating an LED filament because they have none and a higher percentage of electricity is used to make light. The result is that LEDs are much brighter than incandescent bulbs. In addition, the LED is constructed out of special polymers and very durable.

Because of the popularity of LED rope lights for commercial and residential use the UL standards have been up dated and LED rope light is no longer field cuttable.
