Actual Cost Shipping

On-line invoices will not have the shipping cost added to your total cost. The actual cost of shipping will be added at the time of shipment.

Almost all companies charge freight, unless they have their products marked up high enough to cover the freight.

Don't fall for free shipping. Just because shipping is listed as free doesn't mean you're not paying for it. BLI does not mark up their products to cover the cost of shipping. There is however, one situation in which you may qualify for free shipping. That is when you have met the dollar amount that is required for free freight which is specified by the manufacturer.

More on Actual Cost Shipping. This method of figuring freight saves you money and that is exactly why we believe it is in your best interest. Let's take an example. A fixture that costs $195.00 has an estimated shipping cost of $17.92 to ship this fixture to New York or California. The actual shipping cost however is $14.00. By using the actual shipping cost method we don't have to inflate the cost of shipping to make sure shipping costs are covered. So we can save you money by using "actual cost shipping"

Some products may not be shipped via UPS and must be shipped via commercial freight company. This is true with delicate products and large items. If the volume of products is large enough, it is more cost effective to ship all items by this method.

We drop ship your fixtures directly to you from the manufacturer. One of the advantages of this is that your merchandise has less chance of being damaged because it spends less time traveling to a distributor, then being unpacked and repackaged before you finally receive your product. Instead, your products are shipped directly to you. This means less handling of your product = less chance of damage.

Reviewing and Inspecting Your Delivery

We take every effort to ensure that your order is picked and processed correctly. We also use extra packaging to ensure that it arrives to you safely.

Do not sign for and/or do not accept receipt of any products that are visibly damaged. If a product appears to be damaged, please refuse delivery of the item and notify our customer service department immediately at: 1-800-798-2852

UPS/FedEx:
Smaller items are generally shipped via UPS or Fed Ex. If you are home when the delivery arrives, please inspect the packages for obvious damage. If a product appears to be damaged, please refuse delivery of the item and notify our customer service department immediately. If the delivery is made when you are not home, then please inspect your order carefully. You should confirm the accuracy of the order and verify that all products have arrived in satisfactory condition. Any claims for damages and/or errors must be made within 48 hours of receipt.

Common Carrier Services:
Larger items such as chandeliers may require delivery by private trucking firms (common carriers). These companies will call you in advance to arrange a delivery time. It is very important that you inspect these common carrier deliveries thoroughly before signing for them.
Inspect the boxes for external damage, remove the packaging and inspect the contents for any physical damage in the presence of the delivery driver. If there is any damage, visible or not, you must indicate such on the delivery receipt. If a product appears to be damaged to the point that it cannot be used - do not accept it.

If you discover internal (non-visible) damages after the delivery has been signed for then you need to notify us within 48 hours of receipt.

BLI cannot accept responsibility for any damaged product once you sign for a delivery, but we will work with you to resolve the claim with the carrier.

At BLI your satisfaction is our primary goal. Any product that is refused upon delivery will be replaced and/or any errors will be corrected immediately.

MERCHANDISE RETURN POLICY

The retention of goods by the Buyer or for the benefit of the Buyer without written objection or RGA number within (10) business days after delivery shall constitute an unconditional and absolute acceptance by the Buyer. Errors in billing and shipping including damaged material must be reported in writing to the Budget Lighting Inc RGA Department within (10) business days from receipt of the shipment. All returns require an RGA (Return Goods Authorization) number. Returns that are received without an RGA number will not be accepted. They will be returned to sender freight collect. Receiving an RGA number does not imply acceptance and/or payment of credit; it is only permission to return material for evaluation. If credit is issued, it is only after inspection of the product. For proper credit, all returns must include the RGA number on the outside of the box with copy of the packing slip or invoice. Product must be in original packaging, with all manufacturers' paperwork and must be in resalable condition. All returns are subject to a 25% restock fee plus any freight charges, unless the product is defective, or under warranty. Refused or undeliverable shipments will be subject to a 25% restock fee in addition to all applicable shipping costs. All sales of made to order/seasonal product are final, unless product is defective; defective product may be returned for replacement within warranty period.

Claims:

Carefully inspect all shipments before accepting from carrier. Claims for shortage or damage in transit must be filed directly with carriers.



Your Security and Privacy When Shopping on the BLI Web Site



Privacy

We do not use any sort of intrusive means to extract information from your computer. If you purchase something from our web site your email address is not automatically put into our mailing list. While we do have a mailing list you have to subscribe to it at your own discretion and you can also unsubscribe at anytime. At no time do we make your email address available to others. We all dislike spam very much and would never do anything to compromise your information.

We do not use any sort of automatic pop-up windows. Automatic pop-up windows are quite annoying and we want your shopping at our site to be a positive experience.

Flash is also not used on the BLI web site. What is more annoying than having something moving around on your page when you are trying to read about a specific product? (my personal opinion) Even the use of animated graphics is very limited and only used when the product information requires it.

Security

Before payment information entered on the BLI "complete your order" page is transmitted across the Internet, it is first encrypted by an extremely rigorous algorithm called RC4 128 bit (SSL v3.0) which is proven as secure for on-line shopping and e-commerce.

Despite media paranoia about Internet security, this encryption method is actually more secure than providing your credit card number over the phone, something many of us do without hesitation.

There are several indicators of a secure web page. The first is the https:// prefix on the URL of the check out pages.

The second indicator of a secure page depends on your browser.

Early versions of Netscape display a blue bar at the top of the page. Later versions display a key or a padlock in the lower left corner of the screen. Microsoft Internet Explorer displays a padlock on the lower right hand corner of the screen. Firefox also displays a padlock in the bottom right hand corner of the browser.

Our digital key, required for secure web page encryption was provided by GeoTrust. GroTrust performs a comprehensive background check on any company before issuing a digital key.

Every time you shop with us you must enter in all of your information. That is because none of the checkout information you enter is retained on our server. This is a simple but very effective measure to protect your information after all if the information isn't there thieves can't get to it.
